What would high school life look like? This is a familiar question raise by a freshmen high school student.
They say high school years are the best and unforgettable school years in students life. It is in this age that you start to see the world in different perspective and dimension. You would discover various feelings and emotions not to mention the diverse personalities of the students you meet in the school corridor.
Together with this new life transition, your taste and preference for school stuffs also changes. School bags, for instance, high school student definitely leave the Spiderman backpacks in the basement and say hello to a plain design ergonometric bags.
School backpacks today serves not just to carry school stuffs but also a reflection of someone’s personality, style and fashion.
Secretive or a “leave me alone” students always preferred a plain or solid color backpacks designed. The geek or the “I am the next Einstein” dude chooses large backpacks for their reference books plus the other stuffs that normal people don’t know. The “cool dude”, however, prefers flashy and attention getter designs backpacks to accent their baggy jeans-style. Sometimes, these “cool dude” high school students borrowed a trend from smaller kid’s bags, carrying Batman and Spiderman designed school bags roaming around the school premise.
In fact in Southridge High School, many middle and high school students adopt the trend of wearing mini plastic kids backpacks. The most popular characters include Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bob the Builder, Spider-Man and other comic book heroes.
This trend among high school students were believe to originate from unusual fascination of young children and even high school students to cartoon shows. Maybe also, it could be a result of rebellious impulse and the drive to be different attitude, which are common behaviors among the teens today.

Back to School Tips: Keeping your kids backpacks from the bullies

| How to keep your child’s backpacks safe? |
How to keep your child’s backpacks safe without your boy looking like an idiot?
Like any other Mom you want your children to be safe all the time. I will freak out if my child will come home from school carrying his school backpacks with saggy face and in a very upset mood because he lose his Batman backpack or lose his toys I kept in his bag. Not that he lose his school bag or toys but on the thought that maybe he was bullied and harassed by big boys in school and involved in a fist fight or worst it was being snatched by somebody in the street. You will never know what will happen this day.
Frankly, I know I sound like a paranoid mother. But like any “girls scout” mother I always took some precautionary measures for my child to stay safe at all times.
Here's how I keep my child's backpack and its content secure when he go to school or even when we travel. In this way, I could teach my boy how to be careful and be responsible on his own stuffs.
· Choose the right pack- Choose backpacks that open on the top only. Backpacks with multiple compartments inside are great to put the important stuffs out of reach from the intruders.
· Keep the zipper tucked low- When your child close his kids backpack, teach him to keep the zipper tucked as low as possible. That way your child can reach under his arm easily to check that it’s still closed and secure from time to time.
· Snap on a mini-carabiner- Locked the backpack zipper of your child closed with a carabiner, this kind of weird at the beginning but it gives you and your child a peace of mind. Your child can take it off easily when he needs to get something, but it’s one more obstacle from the bully classmates.
· Put the good stuff deep inside- Finally; help your child to arrange his things from putting the good stuff deep inside and less valuable at the top. Discuss it between your child the most important and valuable things in his school bags.
